Overview

Radii Partitioning Design Department is looking for a Design Manager to join a highly experienced team of Design Managers and Senior Design Managers working on specialist architectural glazing projects across the commercial building sector. Support and training will be provided to enable the successful candidate to continue developing within the role.

Purpose

Manage the production and coordination of design and technical documentation for commercial architectural glazing projects from project award through to final account.
Use specialist software including AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) to produce 2D and 3D drawings, fabrication details and models for a range of glazing products and components.

Duties and Responsibilities

Produce plans, fabrication drawings and 2D/3D models using AutoCAD and Revit.
Work independently while managing project timescales and programme deadlines.
Ensure buildability, safety, cost and access are considered throughout the design process.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure client requirements are fully understood.
Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, acoustic and fire requirements.
Follow client drawing protocols and upload documentation to project portals where required.
Complete drawing registers, door schedules, screen schedules and project deliverables.
Ensure all drawings are checked by senior members of the Design Department before submission.
Attend internal design meetings.
Liaise with engineers and suppliers and produce fabrication drawings.
Create and issue technical submissions.
Maintain project files and follow established design processes.
Maintain awareness of responsibilities relating to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems.
Comply with Company policies and procedures, including data protection legislation.

Person Specification

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a design role within a commercial architectural glazing or glazed partitioning environment.
Experience communicating directly with Main Contractors, Architects and specialist trade contractors.
Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (BIM).
Experience interpreting architects' drawings, manufacturing details and requisitions.
Understanding of setting out from datums and gridlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings from written and verbal information.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Positive attitude with the ability to work independently using initiative.
Commitment to personal development and continuous learning.
A passion for design and the continued growth of the business.

Qualifications

Advanced IT skills.
Qualifications in AutoCAD.
Revit (BIM) experience is desirable.
SolidWorks experience is desirable.
Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Working Hours

8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break each day.
