THE CLIENT.

The Trafalgar St. James London is a five-star hotel in Hilton’s Curio Collection, set on Trafalgar Square. As part of a major redesign led by DLSM Studio for Crimson Hotels, new suites and reimagined public areas were created to elevate the guest experience and celebrate the site’s heritage. The project has been recognised as a finalist in the Mix Awards 2025 Project of the Year – Hotel Interiors.

OUR SOLUTION.

Our Planet South contracting team delivered a comprehensive fire-rated glazing and door package combining certified performance with a finish that aligned seamlessly with the hotel’s luxury interiors.

FireEco glazed screens were installed throughout circulation spaces, rated EI60 with acoustic performance up to Rw 47 dB. Double leaf FireEco doors with vision panels and custom handles, rated FD60, were finished in dark-stained oak to complement the corridors and lift lobby entrances.

Solid timber FireEco doors provided FD30 protection and Rw 32 dB acoustic rating for guest suite entrances, balancing safety, comfort, and discretion.

At basement level, a FirePro steel-framed door rated EI60 was paired with a part-height FirePro sidelight rated EI120, complete with smoke seals and power assist for added protection and accessibility.

The result is a fully integrated fire and acoustic solution that safeguards guests and staff while enhancing the design intent of this stunning hotel.
