THE CLIENT.

The University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute forms part of the city’s growing BioQuarter, a hub for health research and innovation. The building brings together over 900 students, researchers, and healthcare partners to address major health challenges while creating a workplace that prioritises collaboration and wellbeing. Designed as both a landmark and a functional environment, the Institute places natural light, healthy workplace choices, and adaptable spaces at the centre of its vision.

THE CLIENT.

OUR SOLUTION.

Our contracting team in Scotland delivered a glazing package that enhances natural light, acoustic comfort, and fire-rated safety throughout the building.

Pure 54 double glazed partitions with IsoPro doors (Rw 46 dB) were installed in the ground floor Seminar Room along with a custom powder coat framework finish, while Level Three features Pure 54 part-height void screens. Firestop EI60 double glazed screens (Rw 49 dB) provide vital fire protection, and Pure 20 single glazed partitions were incorporated across numerous project and work rooms. The result is a transparent, resilient, and comfortable environment that supports both collaboration and privacy.
