Bespoke arched framework feature banding for new neo-classic London headquarters of notable global law firm.

THE CLIENT.

41 Lothbury is the new international headquarters for a confidential legal client, delivered in the heart of the City of London. The project was completed by Radii in two phases, with Levels 2–7 delivered by Mace as main contractor, followed by the Ground Floor, Mezzanine and Level 1 delivered under a second phase with Modus.

Designed by tp bennett, the scheme involved the reimagining of a neo-classical building to create a state-of-the-art workplace for approximately 800 people, balancing the character of the original architecture with the requirements of a modern, client-facing legal practice.

OUR SOLUTION.

Radii was appointed to deliver the internal glazing and doors package throughout the building, supporting the transformation of a heritage structure into a contemporary, high-performing workplace. Our Linear 50+ single glazed partition system (Rw 41 dB) was installed extensively to form office fronts and meeting rooms, maintaining visual connectivity across the floorplates, with the same system also utilised for elements of the building’s structural atrium glazing.

Architectural design expression was introduced through the use of our Rio feature banding, with arched banding applied consistently throughout the scheme. This detail references the building’s historic architecture while creating a cohesive design language within the modern interior. The aluminium framework was powder coat finished in Patina Bronze, adding warmth and depth and reinforcing the project’s sense of quality.

The glazed partitions were complemented by 64mm slip-matched oak timber veneered doors (Rw 40 dB). Detailed with bespoke U-shaped pull handles and hand-height locking where required, these doors were installed across more than 80 office and meeting rooms. Radii also designed, manufactured and installed ten double leaf Hogan framed glazed pivoting doorsets, incorporating automatic operators and Flatscan 3D sensors to meet accessibility and safety requirements.

Acoustic performance was further enhanced in areas adjacent to the building’s central atrium through the introduction of Glide sliding screens used as secondary glazing. Together, these solutions support a workplace that encourages collaboration, innovation and adaptability, while respecting the character of the original building.

The success of 41 Lothbury led to Radii being appointed to deliver the glazing and doors package for the client’s Glasgow office, extending the design approach and quality established in London.
