Planet have always been proud of our unique end-to-end service we provide our clients. As the UK’s only manufacturer who both design, manufacture and install directly for our clients nationwide, we have the ability to work directly with specifiers to meet individual projects design requirements.
Our wide range of standard systems fulfil the majority of the performance criteria cited by our clients, even when demanding acoustic attenuation or fire integrity is required. However, as a company we are keen in helping designers realise their more daring visions and bring them to life by providing complex, bespoke solutions.
The journey begins with Planet’s team understanding the design intent, parameters of the specification and offering innovative solutions with plan, section and 3D drawings.
Once a direction is established, Planet will utilise a number of advanced technical procedures to ensure the smooth running of the project; including BIM modelling and 3D printing. Each new 3D component prototype is then offered to the client for comment. This helps clients and Planet visualise the completed product and helps to make informed design and installation decisions right from the outset.
With the design agreed, fabrication of the components begin, followed up by a real size mock up and finally being installed by our own highly skilled operatives on site.
This level of commitment helped us deliver a bespoke laboratory partition system for the new facilities of the Medical Research Council’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. Planet resolved the age old problem of installing glazing and doorframes within varying plasterboard thickness walls. We designed a new system that wrapped around the plasterboard edges and with a variable thickness.
We are currently involved in a number of projects with special requirements that keep our team challenged and invigorated.
