PROJECT. OBJECTIVES

Client European Investment Bank

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is the European Union bank. It is the only bank that is owned by, and represents the interests of, the European Union Member states – and works with other EU institutions to implement EU policy.

The old Cornhill office building, the London Headquarters of the EIB, required an interior renovation. Overbury asked Planet Partitioning to help create new offices and meeting rooms as part of a Category-B fit out.

OUR
SOLUTION.

Planet Partitioning’s design team worked closely with Bradley Mallalieu Architects to fulfil the requirements of this premium and high acoustic-performing refurbishment. As all the Director offices needed to meet high acoustic attenuation, Planet Partitioning used p100 demountable double glazing partitioning to ensure conversation within these office spaces couldn’t be overheard. Frosting applied to the glass partitioning provides visual contrast and privacy.

The project features a mixture of doors – some with black laminated finish, which complement the striking grey RAL9006 framework. For the smaller rooms, Planet Partitioning’s Eclipse sliding doors fit seamlessly into the p100 cavity.

Remote-control blinds feature in all partitioning, thereby matching the grey framework and providing additional privacy as required at the user’s fingertips.

    PROJECT INSIGHTS.

    The work was undertaken in the summer and completed before EIB staff returned after the summer break. This was a successful transformation of dull and dated offices into modern and private offices for international working staff.
