The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is a group of industry-led manufacturing R&D, innovation and skills facilities supported by a network of Partners across Scotland, all working together to transform the future of manufacturing and provide an innovative and multi-use hub that brings together Scotland’s brightest minds in industry, academia and the public sector.
The design of the space focuses on collaboration, with a variety of private spaces specified to create areas for focused work and larger group meetings in turn.
Planet, working through our northern contracting team, joined the project to provide our expertise in the design, manufacture and installation of a number of our glass partition screens and door solutions to meet the interior design by architects HLM.
PROJECT INSIGHTS.
Planet’s expertise in navigating the regulatory requirements of structural performance required to achieve SER compliance proved highly valuable in the creation of the cantilevered pods and the atrium
glazing.
Furthermore, our published Environmental Product Declarations for PURE20 and PURE100 glazed partition systems were of use to clients the University of Strathclyde, who are committed to achieving an BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ sustainability rating for the NMIS development.
