OUR SOLUTION.

The JJ Mack Building at 33 Charterhouse Street has been created to be one of London’s smartest and most sustainable workplaces, bringing 206,000 sq ft of office and retail mixed use space to Farringdon.

Radii Architectural Glass joined the project to offer our expertise in the design, manufacture and installation of fire rated atrium curtain walling and GRC spandrel panels to the east façade of the building. This created an atrium light scoop from the Ground to Fifth Floor which, in tandem with a bespoke lenticular wall that was created in close collaboration with Mace, with a final design to reference the historical JJ Mack branding.

The finished fit-out project achieved a BREEAM Oustanding and EPC ‘A’ ratings respectively for the sustainable performance of the building.

    BESPOKE LENTICULAR WALL DESIGN PROCESS.

Client Helical plc and Ashby Capital

To ensure that the design intent was fully realised for the bespoke lenticular wall solution, Radii AG constructed a to-scale replica at our manufacturing site to help gain a better understanding of the structural and technical requirements and how it would interact with the light scoop.

Working in close consultation with representatives from Mace during the design phase, workshops were held to help refine the design and identify potential issues to keep track of during the installation and implementation phase.

Once the mock up was accepted by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands as being a good representation of the agreed aesthetic and of the technical quality required, Radii AG moved forward with final production at our dedicated in-house facilities.
