Timber framed glazed partitions combined with aluminium for full future-proofed flexibility of space.

THE CLIENT.

Storey is British Land’s flexible workspace brand, developed to provide their clients with high quality workspaces over shorter term lease cycles that can still be tailored to individual requirements. Their new site on the seventh floor of 201 Bishopsgate would contain their ‘signature mix’ that sees them offer a combination of meeting rooms, breakout areas, phone booths and relaxation spaces.

OUR SOLUTION.

The proposal initially solely featured Dovetail — Radii’s timber framed partition system. However, following further consultation with the client it became clear that a combination of Dovetail and aluminium-framed sections would provide additional versatility to meet the brief regarding flexibility of space.

Therefore, our popular Parallel 50 single glazed partition fronts (Rw 45 dB) and Hogan aluminium framed doors (Rw 38 dB) were used in tandem with the European Oak Dovetail timber portals with decorative surrounds.

 

THE INSTALLATION.

The installation was ‘future-proofed’ in a way that would allow two adjoining rooms to be quickly reconfigured into one bigger space as required, while the Parallel 50 single glazing could be upgraded to double glazing and higher acoustics if required later.

Our final Trade Contractor Score on this project was marked at a fantastic 98 per cent — including full marks for Design, Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental factors.

Of particular note was Radii’s rapid responsiveness assisting the client in find their perfect bespoke solution, with by design drawings being updated and resubmitted within hours as new requests came in.
